Dr Guido Stompff is since September 2019 lecturer of the research line Design Thinking and connected to Inholland University of Applied Sciences. Design Thinking has its own approach to solving problems. The method focuses on creating solutions in order to learn from them. At Inholland University, Stompff wants to improve the methodological foundations of Design Thinking and introduce it broadly in education. In this way, students from various disciplines are given the mindset and tools they need to develop creative solutions to the social issues facing urban areas.
Stompff carries out design-oriented research in living labs, partnerships with education and stakeholders. A current example is the Urban Leisure & Tourism Lab in Amsterdam-Noord. Here, he and his research team are working on solutions for the increasing pressure of tourism on Amsterdam. Guido will share his insights in the Expertise Network Sustainable Urban Tourism.
