Our strategic agenda Urban Tourism: A Call to Action aims to deepen the understanding of (transformative) urban tourism. We focus on generating new ideas, developing methodologies, and communicating our findings to help both academics and practitioners tackle the challenges and opportunities urban tourism presents.

Our goal is to build dynamic partnerships between academics, local communities, and national and international stakeholders. Together, we embark on a journey of exploration and innovation, using the power of tourism to uplift communities, enrich lives, and create thriving, vibrant destinations.

We are excited to ignite a movement that unites a diverse range of stakeholders. The ‘Lectorenplatform’ and this agenda encourages learning, sharing best practices, and even embracing productive failures. We believe that success is built on a foundation of both achievements and lessons learned from challenges. By joining forces, we celebrate collaboration and unlock the potential for positive change in regenerative urban tourism, not only in the Netherlands but globally.

Let’s move forward together with enthusiasm and a shared commitment to shaping the future of urban tourism. You can download our agenda via the link below.
