Leisure and tourism in urban development
The attractiveness and identity of an area are increasingly determined by hospitality, services, greening, culture and leisure. In fact, culture, relaxation and experience are precisely the most important amenities that make an urban area lively. But how do you complete the list of living, working and shopping with recreation? And how do you do that in a sustainable and future-proof way? How do you add recreation to the row of living, working and meeting in area development? How to deal with visitor mobility? And what can be done for more affordable locations and the fragmented entrepreneurial market in the leisure field? In this morning we will discuss with you the possibilities to involve leisure and tourism more in urban development.
During the Screw Up Morning on Thursday, Oct. 12, Sweco, J2Leisure and Expertise Network Sustainable Urban Tourism (ENSUT) will bring together parties such as municipalities, developers, entrepreneurs and researchers to discuss together what can currently be improved in the leisure and tourism sector. Think about programming, visitor mobility, sustainability and cooperation between parties. We will take you through our screw ups and there is room to share your own screw ups. The idea is to put everything on the table to make a plan of what can be done better in the future and which steps need to be taken. During the Screw Up Morning we will avoid pointing fingers as much as possible and try to learn from our mistakes. Besides a substantive panel discussion you will also get to work yourself during a serious game.
ABN AMBRO and Center of Expertise Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality (CELTH) are partners of this event.
